FATE IN LIFE, CHANCE IN COINCIDENCE

Unexpected things
often arrived in our life
was it the fate of life,
or just a coincidence in a chance.

We continue to discuss,
the question of life and choice.
we philosophize and argue
on the nature of good and evil,
we debate and theorize
the morality of society,
while honesty is scarce in our heart,
no wonder an answer was never found.

Although we are offered
with a wide range of choices,
decision that shaped our perception,
stance which formed our reality,
beguiled by
our own ill-perceived “intelligence”
and pretense “wisdom”,
then why often we see,
our choice does not meet our expectation.

Until it is so frightful,
to face the unknown future,
Clueless on how to face
the challenging world,
As if made obsolete
a life of goodness.

There’s one thing,
for me, that bears a lot of meaning,
in gathering strength
to brave myself through
this cruel world,
but I worry to say so,
troubled that mistakes would be repeated.

MIRROR OF LIFE

When I was young,
nothing was possible,
And everything was wonderful,
Achievement was always on your doorstep,
You’ll get it on your own way.
I was carefree,
I’ll do anything I want to do,
Without worrying even a second thought,
I’ll know there’ll be someone on my back,
Keeping me safe and secure,
And thus my dreams were as limitless
As if only the sky was the limit.

Wonder where all the confidence
Drained away,
As I looked back in the mirror now,
I was free back then,
But now I feeling the burden
Piling up on my shoulder.
Responsibility,
Is what you have to bear when
You grow older,
A tiresome life being an adult,
Enough to reminisce my childhood,
Just to recollect those missing pieces
Of distant memory.
I used to pray day and night,
God, make me an adult soon,
Oh, how I wish I could turn back time?
An irony, indeed.
The one thing you want is
The one thing you’ll later regret.
Make believe as much as I want,
The past cannot returned back
To my aged figure.
